Rovigo Conservatorium organizes a project called SoundTrack Europe, involving composers, sound designers and post-audio production students from four different countries: Estonia, France, Spain and Italy.
The producer Jani Pöso and film director Teemu Nikki from It’s Alive Films , based in Finland, have enthusiastically joined the project and provided their new film “Snot&Splash”, which will

then be marketed with the soundtrack composed by the students.
All It's Alive Films' productions have been entertaining takes on deadly serious subjects. So far, they have produced 17 short films, 6 feature films and 3 TV series. The next feature films, “Death is a Problem for the Living” and “Snot&Splash”, will premiere in 2023-2024.

From November 2022 to March 2023, professors from the five partnering Institutions have driven the students’ work through virtual weekly meetings. Every meeting was focused on a specific subject, like analysis of the different scenes, orchestration, arrangement, electronic inputs, post-production, recording, sound design, and was a moment for a feedback over the work done up to that point.
The students (around 30!) were divided into teams cooperating in a democratic way to write new music. They had to respect deadlines imposed by the production and accept their decision concerning their work.
The project is co-funded by the European Union.

The final outcome of the project was an intensive week in April 2023, from 26 to 30, where the original works of the soundtrack were performed by the orchestra of Rovigo Conservatoire and recorded by the students. The orchestra was conducted by Maestro Celeghin. The week was a great possibility for the students to meet each other. They had been virtually working together for several months but never met before. During the evening they also had the possibility to attend the “Kammermusik Festival” concerts in Rovigo, with free entrance.

After the screening they had a discussion with the director Teemu Nikki about the film and his work.

In the evening all the project participants had a final dinner together before saying goodbye.
